Agardh) Kraft et Wynne (Solieriaceae, Gigartinales, Rhodophyta), marking the first documented account of a mitotic study of a species in the Gigartinales. The spherical interphase nucleus of Agardhiella develops a spindle shape by prophase. The outer membrane of the Agardhiella subulata is a fleshy, terete, inter- to subtidal alga with an irregular-alternate branching pattern. The overweight and obese population has skyrocketed, resulting in a high incidence of metabolic disorders. Agardhiella subulata (AS) contains a variety of beneficial components, such as sulfur-containing polysaccharides (dietary fiber) and astaxanthin, which is considered to have anti-obesity potential.
The addition of the growth hormone zeatin at 1 mg L -1 and NAA at 0.01 mg L -1 in the culture medium is routine in the germination of cross-sectional discs of Agardhiella subulata (Cheney et al
Agardhiella subulata (C. Agardh) Kraft et Wynne is a commonly collected erect, terete, alternately branched, fleshy red alga that is found both intertidally and subtidally in the western Atlantic Oc (1995).
Five red algae, Agardhiella subulata, Gracilariopsis longissima, Gracilaria vermiculophylla, Polysiphonia morrowii, and Pyropia elongata were sampled in winter for the extraction of phycoerythrin. The extracted phycoerythrin molecules were compared with the commercial phycoerythrin to determine the intrinsic fluorescence characteristics of the single pigments. An improved selective method for
